Perhaps, for the first time in the annals of the history of Nepalese literature, diamond jubilee celebration is being observed in kathmandu-the capital of Republican Nepal. However, Nepali shikshya parishad had it\'s inceptive conception immediately after the down fall of Ranarchy sometime in 2008 Bikram Era. The harbinger was none but late Gopal Pandey Aseem. In Sanskrit the word Aseem stands for boundlessness which has no limitation at all.

Nepali Shikshya Parishad that had her conception at a Zero base, had nothing of her own. Whatever she had owned was all, but a dedicated mission drive- a drive toward achieving escalating height in the arena of Nepalese lingua franca through multiple activities geared toward achieving stated goal of the organization. The stated goals were twofold: namely – Propagation of lingua franca and promotion of Nepalese literature through out the length and breadth of the Nepalese nationhood.

In order for achieving the stated goals Nepali shikshya Parisad constituted a structural form under the chairpersonship of late Tirtha Prasad Dhungana the then Principal of Padma Kanya Campus. Dhungana was regarded then a model Guru having been worthy facilitator to many scholars inclusive of Preeminent drama laureate late Balakrishana Sama. Balakrishana Sama conversed himself into Sama post democratic innovation from Bala Krishna Samsher at his sweet will and to his credit.

Propagation of lingua franca and promotion of Nepalese literature is not an easy going task. It demands manifold strategic plans and incessant moves. In view of the fact, Parishad started establishing Nepali Prabesika Shikshya an education program with legal status secured from the then His Majesty\'s Government of Nepal. The rational behind it stands for making Nepali language education and instruction base equivalent to school Leaving Certificate examination an English based education. The ideas and the knowledge along with skills could, by all means, be gained and acquired through Nepali Language based education was the sole motto of the approach made. Nepali Prabesika Shikshya took more decade long march from Kathmandu to Pokhara, Palpa and few other districts. It was a fun and funding learning experience to me being indulged in the task of doing so.

The approaches made so far to propagate Nepalese literature were meticulously designed to reach the goal. The first step taken was to celebrate the live Ratha Yatra of the poet laureate Lekhnath Poudel in 2011 B.E. consequently followed by joint anniversary of the demised literary personalities starting from the pioneer poet Adikabi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, followed by Moti Ram Bhatta – a Kathamanduit and a path finder of the medieval period in the history of Nepalese literature. The commemorative anniversary celebration held would take place, at times interval somewhere at Durbar High School ( Bhanu Bhakta Memorial High School) or Saraswati sadan within Tri – chandra college complex. Popularly dignified poets, dramatists, and critiques would participate on the occasions. Nothing sort of snacks and beverages would be served like that of these days. Instead cusses, coconuts and dates were served in honor of the audience. And that was quite a fun for me to move from one to another holding a big plate at hand.

One of the strategic moves geared toward boosting younger generation was to advocate for making them participate in the literary competitions. Such competitive programs were designed and held at times interval at different occasions and point of time. These efforts were found positive supplemented with a token of recognition for achievements and efforts made by the participating youths and energetic minds. It has remained a lasting effort till date. Certain problem solving titles are assigned to the willing participants through mass media with timeframe for submission. And the judgment committee does the needful to the required effort having had collected the write ups from the contestants.

Besides, them some grand efforts were also made and held in recognition of the seniors and contemporary litterateurs. Bhanu Award (Bhanu Puraskar) comprised with Rs. 1,01101 (one lakh one thousand one hundred and one) is awarded once every year since 2058v.e. The Rastra Kabi Madhav Prasad Ghimere is the one who had been honored with the Bhanu Puraskar at the initial stage of this award, and was handed over to the novelist Rajeswor Devkota last year (2066 B.E.) for his outstanding contribution through prolific prose writing. The recipients and awardees have numbered to sixteen personalities as of now. The second award had been created the Aseem Puraskar worth of Rs 25,000 (twenty five thousand) in commemoration of late Gopal Pandey Aseem – the founding father of Nepal Shikshya Parishad.

Thirdly, Nepali Shikshya Parisad has also managed for an award to the outstanding due student securing highest mark in Nepali subject. The award contains Rs 5000 (Five thousand rupees) as an incentive drive and consolation for future career building at best. Bhanu Memorial high school has been chosen not because of others but because the founding father of Shikshya Parishad spent entire life time in that school in the capacity of an established Nepali language grammarian and Nepali literature teacher; mentions Bhim Bhadur Adhikari – the Treasurer of the parishad in one of his write-ups.

Along with several other achievements made so far by the Parishad have remained erection of the statues of Adikabi Bhanu Bhakta at the Bhanu memorial high school, Ranipokhari, Moti Ram Bhatta\'s Pratima at Dharan, Kabi Shiromani’s statue at Lekh Nath Sahitya Sadan, Bala Krishana Sama\'s Pratima at Kamal pokhari, Maha Kabi Laxmi Prasad Devkota\'s Statue in Lhasa, Tibet consulate General\'s office complex during the counsellership of Shankar Prasad Pandey in 2058 v.e.

Sixty year\'s of life span of Nepali Shikshya Parishad has withnessed three monumental structures inclusive of Lekh Nath Sahity Sadan, Bhanu Smriti Sadan at Ramgha the Birth place of Adikabi and Moti Smriti Sadan at Dharan in eastern Nepal. Some Twenty in numerical number literary publications have been the output of the Parishad. The Rastra Bhasa – The annual publication of the Parishad has remained the literary ornament of Nepali Literary publication.

Nepali Shikshya Parishad under the dynamism of Rama Sharma (the daughter of late Aseem) has directed the organisation toward glorious achievement rather than exhibiting glamorous style that dose not last long. Actions should speak loud than the words. We believe in transparency and not in a veiled scarf.

Let us celebrate Diamond Jubilee of the Parishad for the sake of Nepal, Nepali Lingua Franca and it\'s literature for Nationhood and Nepalism for common good and prosperity.

Let us make an epoch making contribution for our nation’s sake, to our achievements sake through our dedication in accomplishing the stated goal and achieving the mission drive spelled out so far so good!

In essence, the Diamond jubilee celebration got a fabulous accomplishment at the lofty presence of the first President, His Excellency Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and in the midst of huge audience comprising of outstanding litterateurs, prominent social workers and recognized civil society heads. Let history spell out and record it for future generations to come!

Dr. Madhav Prasad Pokharel the Nepalese linguist and non-fiction prose writer was decorated with Aseem Award at the event. The eve was organized at a point of time in commemoration of the ninety eight anniversary of late Gopal Pandey Aseem at Kathmandu.
