Luther, The Man Who Brought Freedom
Samikshya Thapalia

DOB- 6/24/97
He was a man that changed our life
His passion and obsession freed us all,
Led us to believe,
But now look at us…what have we become
Martin Luther King Jr.
The man who changed the world and the way we think
He separated segregation form America and opened our eyes
He helped the blacks, Hispanics, and Asians
He gave his life so we can live without suffurage
If he were to see the hatered we have in the world today
He might as well feel disappointed to see his lifetime work go to waste
He got slapped and hit but he didn’t scream or yell
All he said was why with not a bit of fright
His house burned down and he went to jail
He did nothing but only got more enthusiastic about fulfilling his dream
He might have destroyed segregation but there is still hatred and death is his word today
He changed the world and is watching from above
But on April 4, 1968 millions of people gathered in Memphis, Tennessee to watch Martin Luther King Jr. perspire to the skies above
Being shot for changing the world was the worst punishment he could get
The way he died shattered millions of followers
But all he did was for us and only us
For our world
For our people
